Groupwise archive emails exist but empty

I have a user whose archive appears to be ok until she tries to open the
emails which are in there. All of the emails open but have no text
inside them.
I have run a gwcheck 'recreate user database' and it came up with lots
of errors stating ' error 50 orphaned blob file '.
Now when she opens the archive, the folders are there but there are no
emails.
Any ideas ? She has a couple of years worth of mail she needs to
access.

The problem would seem to be that the msg.db file is broken, hence all the
error 50 messages as the blob files are no longer linked through the
msg.db file. TID 10090951 gives the details, but if the msg.db is corrupt,
you are basically dead in the water without a backup.
